Low fishing enthusiasts who want to learn from the best fishermen in the world while exploring the legendary fisheries will soon be able to register as quarterbacks for the Elite Bassmaster 2020 series.

One of those events will be held at Lake Chickamauga from February 14 to 17, 2020.

"Being able to see how the best professionals fish for a body of water that you can fish frequently or in a future tournament is absolutely invaluable," said Rick Moore, a retired California resident who served as a marshal at 22 B.A.S.S. events “The enthusiasm among the Elite professionals of 2019 was excellent, and their connection and interaction with the marshals was exceptional!

“I have been able to see many of the new bait prototypes, learn new techniques and receive personal advice from Elite professionals in many tournaments. As a marshal, professionals will be honest about what and why they are fishing in a certain way. I can't count the number of times a professional has asked me to join him on the front deck to show how he interpreted his graphics or read the movements of a bedfish. "

The Marshal program, created by B.A.S.S. In 2009, as a way to attract observers who would travel together with professionals, it allows people to spend two or three days in the water with some of the best professional fishermen in the sport. Marshals are not allowed to fish, but they are encouraged to take photos, send blog posts to and serve as an additional pair of eyes for B.A.S.S. Tournament officials, making sure all the rules are followed. In addition, quarterbacks operate the BASSTrakk digital scoring system that allows fans to follow the action in real time.

Marshal locations are available for eight regular season Elite series events for only $ 99 per tournament. The Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest that benefits the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife does not include sheriffs; instead, the judges help with the capture-weigh-release scoring process in that event. Marshals are also invited to participate in the 2020 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk from March 6 to 8 in Lake Guntersville, Alabama.

As part of the program, in each tournament participants will enjoy an exclusive dinner and an encounter with all the Elite fishermen, as well as receive official clothing and products from Bassmaster masters of the tournament sponsors. It is guaranteed that each quarterback will be in the water during the first two days of competition. As the Elite Series field is reduced to 40 for the day of the semifinal, quarterbacks are chosen based on how early they register for the event, as well as their blogs and photographs in the preliminary rounds.

The Marshal's experience attracts those from all walks of life and anyone who is ready to gather tips and tricks from experienced fishermen.

"From the first morning with your fisherman to the back of the stage with the winner on the last day, many internal stories that you would never know as a strict observer develop," said Moore. "It takes the serious grave fisherman to a different level as a fan."

Registration for B.A.S.S. Life and Nation members open on December 3 and December 10 for all other B.A.S.S. members. For more information and to register for the Elite Series Marshal program, visit or register by phone at (877) BASS-USA.
